The lines indicate the averaged regression lines over all participants’ regression lines in a particular number set. For calculating the positions of the circles, triangles, and squares, first, the dRTs of each participant were averaged. Then the mean over all participants for each number per number set was calculated. The plots in a) show the linear regression lines of all four digits of a number set. The plots in b) show the linear regression lines of the three consecutive points.
The four plots show mean dRTs in ms depending on the numbers’ magnitude or the ordinal position of the numbers when ordered according to their magnitude.
