In the 1995 Agricultural Census, the intensity of land use in livestock production (animals/ha) does not correlate directly with the herd size on farms (horizontal axis with herd size intervals) up to the range between 3,000 and 8,000 head of cattle. In turn, profitability (R$/worker) correlates positively with the level of production but is indifferent to the intensity of land use.
