This figure illustrates the comparison between the total waste in-place at 128 California landfills to annual average landfill gas recovery rates which has been normalized to 50% CH4. Despite the variety of individual landfill sites, there is a statistically significant correlation between all the sites (P<0.001), which allows an estimate of the average biogas recovery rate for all landfill sites in California.
