“Considering the Revolution: Citizenship and Sovereignty” was the opening public plenary at the 2024 joint meeting of the National Council on Public History and the Utah Historical Society in Salt Lake City, Utah. The session was the fourth in a planned series of five annual roundtables sponsored by the National Park Service and NCPH which consider the meaning, legacies, and changing interpretations of the American Revolution as the nation approaches its 250th Anniversary. The discussions are intended to be useful for NPS interpretive staff in their work with the public regardless of their geographic location or primary interpretive focus, as well as by NCPH members as they prepare for the 250th commemorations, and by members of the public as they consider the relevance of the Revolution to their own lives.
