Submission Guidelines
Sociology of Development invites submissions of original scholarly work that has not been previously published and is not currently under review at another publication. The journal is published quarterly and invites submissions year-round.
Manuscripts should typically not exceed 10,000 words. They should be formatted in Microsoft Word, double-spaced, use a 12-point font, and have pages numbered consecutively.
Submissions should follow the format specified by the American Sociological Association (PDF).
The journal uses a double-blind peer review method. No identifying information should appear in the body of the manuscript. Authors should include a separate cover page listing article title, author(s) name(s) and contact information. The abstract (no more than 200 words) should appear on the first page of the body of the manuscript.
Images and figures (with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi) should be submitted in a separate document, not imbedded in the article itself. Color images are accepted. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish the images where necessary.
All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through Scholastica at https://socdev.scholasticahq.com/.
After initial screening, if submissions are deemed appropriate for the journal they will be reviewed anonymously by a minimum of two referees. Please note that all authors whose papers are accepted for publication are required to sign an Author Agreement.
