Sociology of Development Call for Papers

Launched by sociologists Dr. Andrew Jorgenson and Dr. Jeffrey Kentor in 2015, Sociology of Development is an international journal addressing issues of development, broadly considered. With basic as well as policy-oriented research, Sociology of Development promotes intellectual diversity within the study of development, with articles from all scholars of development sociology, regardless of theoretical orientation, methodological preference, region of investigation, or historical period of study, and encourages contributions from related disciplines including political science, economics, geography, anthropology, and health sciences.

Editors Jorgenson and Kentor encourage authors to submit original work for review and possible publication in the journal. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Economic development and well-being
  • Gender
  • Health
  • Inequality
  • Poverty
  • Climate change, environment, and sustainability
  • Political economy
  • Conflict
  • Social movements
  • Race and ethnicity

Authors are encouraged to review the Sociology of Development submission guidelines prior to submission. All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the Sociology of Development ScholarOne manuscripts site. Upon acceptance, all authors will be required to sign a Sociology of Development Author Agreement.
