Max Felker-Kantor received his PhD from the University of Southern California in 2014. He teaches at Marian University in Indianapolis. His current research explores how struggles over policing and crime policy in Los Angeles from the Watts uprising to the 1992 Los Angeles Rebellion redefined the meaning of citizenship, politics, and power. His articles and book chapters have been published in the Journal of Urban History (forthcoming), Journal of Civil and Human Rights (forthcoming), Black and Brown Los Angeles: A Contemporary Reader, the Pacific Historical Review, and the Casden Annual Review.
