Donald C. Jackson is Cornelia F. Hugel Professor of History at Lafayette College, Easton, PA. His books on California and western water history include Building the Ultimate Dam: John S. Eastwood and the Control of Water in the West (1995), Big Dams of the New Deal Era: a Confluence of Engineering and Politics (with coauthor David Billington, 2005), and most recently Heavy Ground, William Mulholland and the St. Francis Dam Disaster (with coauthor Norris Hundley, 2015).
