Julia Meredith Hess is Research Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of New Mexico. She is the author of Immigrant Ambassadors: Citizenship and Belonging in the Tibetan Diaspora (Stanford University Press, 2009). Her current research is focused on refugee resettlement and the health and well-being of the many diverse peoples in New Mexico.
