Mike Sonksen is a third-generation Angeleno poet and journalist currently completing his Master of Arts at California State University at Los Angeles in English and History. Following the release of his first book I Am Alive in Los Angeles! in 2006, Sonksen has lectured at and presented his work at over sixty universities and high schools. His weekly KCET column L.A.
