Monica Jovanovich-Kelley is a PhD candidate in art history, theory, and criticism at the University of California, San Diego. Her dissertation traces the history of corporate commissions of public art in Los Angeles during the 1930s through the work of muralist Hugo Ballin. She currently teaches at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California and was a 2011 James and Sylvia Thayer Research Fellow at the UCLA Special Collections.
