Lynn H. Gamble is professor of anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her research focuses on emergent sociopolitical complexity among hunter-gatherer societies in California. Her recent book, The Chumash World at European Contact: Power, Trade, and Feasting Among Complex Hunter-Gatherers, was published by the University of California Press. She has conducted research in California for over thirty years.
