Bernard Stiegler is Professor of philosophy at the University of Technology of Compiègne and Nanjing University, Director of the Georges Pompidou Institute of Research and Innovation in Paris, and cofounder of the political group Ars Industrialis. He created the online philosophical school pharmakon.fr in 2010. He is the author of Automatic Society I: The Future of Work (2015), States of Shock: Stupidity and Knowledge in the 21st Century (2015), Symbolic Misery, volumes 1 and 2 (2014 and 2015), and For a New Critique of Political Economy (2010), among other publications.
