Manushag N. Powell is Professor of English at Purdue University West Lafayette. She is coauthor, with Frederick Burwick, of British Pirates in Print and Performance (2015) and editor of the Broadview Press edition of Daniel Defoe’s Captain Singleton (2019). Her essay “Piratical Counterfactual, Piratical Counterfictional: From Misson to Melodrama” was recently published in Counterfactual Romanticism, edited by Damian Walford Davies (2019).
