Philip Connell is a Professor of Literature and History at the University of Cambridge. He has published widely on British literary, political, and intellectual history from the mid-seventeenth to the early nineteenth centuries. His most recent book is Secular Chains: Poetry and the Politics of Religion from Milton to Pope (Oxford University Press, 2016). He is currently working on revolution and cultural memory in later Georgian Britain.
