Peter R. Martin works at the Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge. His essay “Indigenous tales of the Beaufort Sea: Arctic exploration and the circulation of geographical knowledge” was published in the Journal of Historical Geography (2019), and “Off the beaten track? Critical approaches to exploration studies,” coauthored with Edward Armston-Sheret, appeared in Geography Compass (2020). He is currently working on the European Research Council’s ERC Arctic Cultures Project at the Scott Polar Research Institute.
