Daniel Diez Couch is Assistant Professor in the Department of English & Fine Arts at the United States Air Force Academy. He is currently at work on a book manuscript that examines the history of literary fragments, tentatively titled “American Fragments: The Political Aesthetic of Literary Ruins in the Early Republic.” His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Early American Literature, Studies in American Fiction, Early American Studies, and The Eighteenth Century: Theory and Interpretation.
