Margaret Doody is John and Barbara Glynn Family Professor of Literature in the Department of English at the University of Notre Dame. Among many publications, her most recent book is Jane Austen’s Names: Riddles, Persons, Places (2015). Her research has been supported at various times by the Guggenheim Foundation, the ACLS, and NEH. She is currently working on a book-length manuscript provisionally entitled “Love, Change, and Chaos,” dealing with Renaissance and Enlightenment scientific and poetic imagination and our embrace of change.
