Mark Canuel, Professor of English at the University of Illinois at Chicago, is the author of Justice, Dissent, and the Sublime (2012) and editor of British Romanticism: Criticism and Debates (2015). He is now at work on a book-length study tentatively titled “Romanticism and the Fate of Progress.”
