He is author of Making Lemonade out of Lemons: Mexican American Labor and Leisure in a California Town, 1880-1960 and co-author of Latinos in U.S. Sport: A History of Isolation, Cultural Identity, and Acceptance. He just completed a book manuscript, Deportes: The Making of a Sporting Mexican Diaspora for Rutgers University Press.
