Emily Acevedo is an assistant professor of political science at California State University, Los Angeles, in Los Angeles, California. She has two articles under consideration for publication, the first focusing on the looming institutional challenges confronting President Enrique Peña Nieto to restore public order and security in Mexico, and the other focusing on Latin America’s response to the US War on Drugs, calling for a more comprehensive approach to tackle the drug problem.
