In my review of the excellent MoMA exhibition Henri Labrouste: Structure Brought to Light (JSAH 72, no. 4 [Dec. 2013]), I professed myself unconvinced by Professor Martin Bressani’s argument that Labrouste was a Fourierist, which he made in an essay in the exhibition catalog. I have revisited that criticism, and I wish to withdraw it. The evidence of Labrouste’s sympathies is substantial, and Professor Bressani does a fine job in presenting it.
