Special Issue: Queering Palestine: Introduction

Leila Farsakh is associate professor of political science at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is the author of Palestinian Labour Migration to Israel: Labour, Land and Occupation, 2nd ed. (London: Routledge, 2012) and has published in a wide range of academic journals on the political economy of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as well as alternatives to partition in Israel/Palestine. She is also a senior research fellow at the Center for Development Studies at Birzeit University in the West Bank.

Rhoda Kanaaneh has taught anthropology and gender and sexuality studies at New York University, American University in Washington, DC, and Columbia University. She has written and edited a number of books and her current research looks at Arab asylum seekers in the United States who use gender or sexuality as a basis for their applications.

Sherene Seikaly is associate professor of history at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her book, Men of Capital: Scarcity and Economy in Mandate Palestine (Stanford, CA: Stanford University Press, 2015) explores how Palestinian capitalists and British colonial officials used economy to shape territory, nationalism, the home, and the body. She is the editor of the Arab Studies Journal, a cofounder and coeditor of Jadaliyya e-zine, and a contributing editor at the Journal of Palestine Studies.
