William B. Quandt is the Edward R. Stettinius, Jr. Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia and was a member of the National Security Council staff during the Carter administration. He is the author of Peace Process: American Diplomacy and the Arab-Israeli Conflict since 1967 (Brookings Institution and University of California Press, 2005, third edition).
