Review: Schoenberg's Transformation of Musical Language by Ethan Haimo
ALFRED CRAMER is Associate Professor of Music at Pomona College, where he teaches courses in music theory, perception and cognition, and sound studies. He has published on Klangfarbenmelodie and other sonic aspects of harmony in the music of the Second Viennese School, as well as on structural connections between music, stenography, and phonetics in the nineteenth century. In recent research he explores connections between linguistic prosody and musical phrasing.
