Review: Sensational Knowledge: Embodying Culture through Japanese Dance by Tomie Hahn
JAY KEISTER is Associate Professor at the University of Colorado, Boulder. His book Shaped by Japanese Music: Kikuoka Hiroaki and Nagauta Shamisen in Tokyo (Routledge 2004) focuses on traditional music in modern Japan. He has published articles on Japanese music in the journals Ethnomusicology, Asian Music, and The World of Music, and has a forthcoming article on dance in Asian Theatre Journal. He also coauthored an article on progressive rock in the journal Popular Music.
