Savoy Cabbage: Cape Town, South Africa
peter pankhurst was born in Cape Town and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. He trained under top European-style chefs there before falling in love with American creativity and style through Andrew Dornenburg and Karen Page's Culinary Artistry. Pankhurst worked briefly at The Inn at Little Washington, Palena, Citronelle, and Citizen in Washington, D.C., but he remains happily at Savoy Cabbage Restaurant, Cape Town, where he has been cooking since November 2000.
