francine segan, a food historian and lecturer, is the author of four cookbooks, including Shakespeare's Kitchen (Random House, 2003) and Opera Lover's Cookbook (Stewart, Tabori & Chang, 2006), which was nominated for both James Beard and IACP awards. Segan writes for the Tribune Media Syndicates and is the food and home editor for the online women's magazine BettyConfidential.com.
