jeannette ferrary is author of Out of the Kitchen: Adventures of a Food Writer; M.F.K. Fisher and Me; and six cookbooks. Her work has appeared in the New York Times and many other publications. A member of Les Dames d'Escoffier, she studied cooking in France with Julia Child and Simone Beck and teaches food writing courses at Stanford and Berkeley. Her photography has been exhibited at the Museum of the City of New York. www.jeannetteferrary.com.
