“A Handshake or a Kiss”: The Legacy of George Stoney (1916–2012)
Brian Winston is a scholar with extensive writings on the documentary including Lies, Damn Lies & Documentaries (2000) and Claiming the Real II (2009). He has just edited The Documentary Film Book for the British Film Institute. He wrote and produced the feature-length documentary A Boatload of Wild Irishmen (2011), which examines the work of Robert Flaherty. Winston is currently the Lincoln Professor at the University of Lincoln, UK.
