William Paul is a professor of Film and Media Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. He is the author of Ernst Lubitsch's American Comedy (Columbia University Press, 1983) and Laughing Screaming: Modem Hollywood Horror and Comedy (Columbia University Press edn, 1995).
