AbstractElephant chronicles the day of a high school massacre similar to that which occurred at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, in 1999. Visually rich and insightful about adolescent life, the film ultimately may not give viewers enough to work with in grappling with the terrible phenomenon it takes for material.
