Victoria Duckett
Elif Rongen-Kaynakçi is the curator of silent film at EYE Film Institute in Amsterdam. She has worked on the discovery, restoration, and presentation of many films that were presumed lost. These include Beyond the Rocks (1922, starring Gloria Swanson and Rudolph Valentino), TheFloor Below (1918, starring Mabel Normand), Az utolsó hajnal (1917, Michael Curtiz), and many others whose stars include Mary Miles Minter, Olive Thomas, and Sessue Hayakawa. Rongen-Kaynakçi coorganized the Fourth Amsterdam Workshop with Nico de Klerk in 2004 and was coorganizer of “The Colour Fantastic: Chromatic Worlds of Silent Cinema” international conference at EYE in March 2015. She is a regular contributor to the programs of Il Cinema Ritrovato and Le Giornate del Cinema Muto.
