Kobe T Natachu (They/Them) is a Shiwi, Diné, and Katishtya transfemme from the Pueblo of Zuni. They are an artist, activist, and scholar whose poetics draw from Pueblo land-based storytelling practices to uphold their responsibility to future generations, specifically Indigenous Queer, Trans, and/or Two-Spirit people. This collection of poetry embodies the A:shiwi saying of “Dom bena:we a:dehya,” which loosely translates to “your words are valuable/powerful” as language is how A:shiwi have and continue to shape reality. These poems are a work of love and promise for those yet to come into this world.
