Forums: Guidelines

STIMULATING KNOWLEDGE SHARING AND DEBATE

Elementa publishes online topical Forums to stimulate knowledge sharing and debate about specific opportunities and challenges presented by this era of human impacts.

Our goal is to facilitate dialog across diverse fields of human endeavor on the challenges of achieving transitions to sustainability and mitigating environmental problems, and to generate the knowledge most needed to inform and promote those approaches. Each Forum focuses sharply on a specific opportunity or challenge.

Forums combine invited and open submissions, with the Forum editor determining the relevant types of Elementa articles for open submissions to a forum. These include: Research Article, Review, Policy Bridge, Commentary, and Comment & Reply.

Forums are often launched with invited framing article(s) that pose key questions designed to prompt open submissions over six months or a longer period of time. Invited videos, audio and other visual contributions may be part of a Forum.

When preparing a submission to an Elementa Forum, please be sure to follow these steps:
  • Carefully review the Forum description and framing article(s); if the Forum poses a specific set of questions to be addressed, please ensure that your submission addresses one or more of these.
  • Indicate the Forum name and pertinent Elementa domain in your cover letter.
  • Carefully review our Guidelines for Authors.
