At the time of this writing, I am in India, in my hometown, Kolkata, in the City of Joy. Except it is record-breaking heat this summer, with people dying of heat strokes and air conditioners breaking from the unbearable heat. And I am in awe of all the service workers who walk and work in this intolerable heat. Being in this part of the world reminds me of my class, caste, and citizenship privilege daily, and I am mixed with guilt and gratitude. I become increasingly aware of the anatomy of privilege. And I am repeatedly reminding myself of the deep interconnectivity between all of us that keeps us entangled. Being the editor of this journal allows me to create a space for this interconnectivity and engage in theoretical and methodological departures so that we can exist in expansiveness and generativity.
