Ted Robert Gurr is Distinguished University Professor of government and politics at the University of Maryland and distinguished scholar at the university’s Center for International Development and Conflict Management He has written or edited more than a dozen books, including the award-winning Why Men Rebel (Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1970).
