Georges Nzongola-Ntalaja is a professor of African studies at Howard University. A former president of the African Studies Association and president-elect of the African Association of Political Science, he is the author of Revolution and Counter-Revolution in Africa (London: Zed Books, 1987), editor of The Crisis in Zaire: Myths and Realities (Trenton, N.J.: Africa World Press, 1986), and an editor of The Oxford Companion to Politics of the World (New York: Oxford University Press, 1993).
