Robert Wade is a fellow of the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex and was recently a visiting professor of politics at MIT. He is the author of Governing the Market: Economic Theory and the Role of Government in East Asian Industrialization (Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1990).
