Adeed Dawisha is a professor of government and politics at George Mason University. He is, with I. William Zartman, the coauthor of Beyond Coercion: The Durability of the Arab State (New York: Methuen, 1989). He spent the academic year 1990–1991 in Cairo, Egypt, as a Fulbright Fellow.
