Romania: Will History Repeat Itself?

Trond Gilberg is director of the Slavic and Soviet Language and Area Center at the Pennsylvania State University. He has been a visiting professor at the Christian-Albrechts-Universitat in Kiel, West Germany, the University of Washington, the United States Military Academy at West Point, and the United States Army War College at Carlisle, Pennsylvania. His publications include Nationalism and Communism in Romania (Boulder, Col.: Westview Press, 1990), and Coalition Strategies of Marxist Parties (Durham, N.C.: Duke University Press, 1989).
