Tanzania’s Economic Recovery

Michael F. Lofchie is director of the African Studies Center at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has recently coedited, with Stephen K. Commins and Rhys Payne, Africa’s Agrarian Crisis (Boulder, Colo.: Lynne Rienner Publishers, 1986) and is completing a book on agricultural performance in Kenya and Tanzania.
