United States Policy in the Middle East

Robert E. Hunter is director of European studies and senior fellow in Middle Eastern studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies at Georgetown University. From 1979 to 1981, he was director of Middle East affairs at the National Security Council. He was a principal author of the Carter Doctrine.
