Enrique A. Baloyra is the author of El Salvador in Transition (Chapel Hill: University of North Carolina Press, 1982), and of several essays on El Salvador. He recently edited Comparing New Democracies (Boulder: Westview Press, 1987). He is currently associate dean of the Graduate School of International Studies of the University of Miami.
