The Soviet Union and the Third World

Mark N. Katz is a research associate at the Kennan Institute for Advanced Russian Studies of the Smith-sonian Institution’s Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. He is the author of The Third World in Soviet Military Thought (Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 1982), and Russia and Arabia: Soviet Foreign Policy toward the Arabian Peninsula (Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 1986).
