Education in Japan

William E. Cummings is the author of three books and many articles on Japanese education. He is currently conducting research on science and technology resources in Asia.

Victor N. Kobayashi, dean of the summer session at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, has written many articles on Japanese education. His current research focuses on Japanese films and how they reflect social and educational changes. Cummings and Kobayashi are coeditors (with Edward Beauchamp, Shogo Ichikawa and Morikazu Ushiogi) of the forthcoming Education in Crisis: Japanese and American Perspectives (New York: Praeger, 1986).
