Hideo Sato was an associate professor of political science at Yale University before moving to Japan in 1982. He is a coauthor of The Textile Wrangle: Conflict in Japanese–American Relations 1969–1971 (Ithaca: Cornell University Press, 1979), and Managing an Alliance: The Politics of U.S.–Japanese Relations (Washington, D.G.: The Brookings Institution, 1976). He is also coeditor of Coping with U.S.–Japanese Economic Conflicts (Lexington, MA.: Lexington Books, 1982).
