Zaire: Stalemate and Compromise

Thomas Turner is director of the International Studies Program at Wheeling College. He recently returned from a year of research in Zaire, under the auspices of the National Endowment for the Humanities. He is coauthor, with Crawford Young, of The Rise and Decline of the Zairian State (Madison: University of Wisconsin Press, 1985).
