Howard J. Wiarda is resident scholar and director of the Center for Hemispheric Studies at the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research. He is the author of several books on Latin America, including Rift and Revolution: The Central America Imbroglio (Washington, D.C.: The American Enterprise Institute, 1984), and In Search of Polity: The U.S. and Latin America (Washington, D.C.: The American Enterprise Institute, 1984).
