Michael M. Harrison is acting director of the European Studies Program at The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C. He is the author of The Reluctant Ally: France and Atlantic Security (Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 1981), as well as many articles on French and Italian politics and Atlantic affairs.
